Before we were Crown & Chaos, we thought about being Vodka & Sweatpants for a hot second. It’s been a while, but we used to solely drink Vodka. It’s still a favorite, so we were super excited to try new Ving Vodka. It’s an organic vodka handmade in California that’s made in small batches. It’s also a gluten-histamine-sulfite-sugar-free vodka that by some ancient magic does not leave you with a headache in the morning.
Ving Vodka was started by a woman who couldn’t find a spirit she liked that was also in line with her healthy lifestyle. She started looking for an elegant, delicious clean cocktail with no mystery ingredients and quickly realized what she was looking for didn’t exist. With a little determination, she worked until she perfected Ving Vodka to be the smoothest, purest and highest-quality vodka on the market. Beyond the ingredients, Ving promotes wellness, community, laughter, environmentalism, music and the arts in schools, animal rights, and equality.
We love a women-owned brand and found the perfect opportunity to try out this new vodka at our St. Patrick’s Day celebration. Our friend Courtney was in town, so we had even more reason to celebrate. We chose to do all green drinks in keeping with the St. Patty’s Day theme. We were also inspired by the clean ingredients in the vodka and made craft cocktails from healthy ingredients like cucumber, lemon, and mint – so it’s basically a salad. And all of our drinking dreams have come true!
Here are our thoughts about two different flavors of Ving Vodka. We’ve also included a few of the recipes we tried. All thoughts and reviews are our own and are not a paid endorsement.
VING VODKA FARM FRESH KALE, LEMON PEEL & CUCUMBER
Before making and cocktails, we each took a sip for a clean taste. Ving Vodka Farm Fresh Kale, Lemon Peel & Cucumber was everyone’s favorite. It had a surprisingly refreshing taste and just a hint of lemon and cucumber. We didn’t really taste the kale which we considered a plus.

VING VODKA FARM FRESH CORN
Ving Vodka Farm Fresh Corn was definitely your stronger straight vodka flavor which made it perfect for adding into just about any drink. It’s slightly sweet and goes down smooth. This is also the better vodka if you happen to dislike cucumber (like some of our taste-testers).

COCTAIL RECIPES
“Ving Lit” by Ving Vodka
1.5 oz Ving Vodka Farm Fresh Kale, Lemon Peel & Cucumber
1/4 oz simple syrup
1/5 oz cucumber juice
1/4 oz lime juice
2 mini mint leaves crumbled up to get oils out
Cucumber garnish
The Ving Lit has a nice refreshing, light and elegant taste. If you like the cucumber water at the spa, you’ll like this drink. It tastes healthy and delicious with an aroma of sweet cucumber. We recommend going light on the cucumber or it can be too overpowering.
Apple Martini
1 oz Ving Vodka Farm Fresh Corn
1 oz Green Apple Schnapps
1 oz Sprite
Apple martinis are a favorite around here and have that sweet and sour taste that reminds us of our childhood. The green apple schnapps is a nice compliment to the vodka. This recipe also works well with Ving Vodka Farm Fresh Kale, Lemon Peel & Cucumber for a lighter, refreshing cocktail.
“Ving-tini” by Rosewood Cordevalle Resort
2.4 oz Ving Vodka Farm Fresh Kale, Lemon Peel & Cucumber
1/4 fresh squeezed lemon
1/4 fresh squeezed lime
3 slices of cucumber
Garnish with cucumber wheel
Place 3 slices of cucumber into shaker and muddle with freshly squeezed lemon lime juices. Add 2.5 oz of Ving Vodka KLC. Add ice into strainer. Shake until cold. Strain into chilled martini glass.
The Ving-tini has a nice refined flavor. The lemon juice, lime juice and cucumber really bring out the flavors in the vodka. It’s a great sipping cocktail.
